For Parton’s family, the private ceremony was a deeply emotional moment. Her great-niece Lainey Parton shared a message on Instagram after the funeral, remembering the special relationship she had with her grandmother.
Lainey said Parton always made her feel that her dreams were possible. She remembered how Dolly encouraged her from a young age and made her feel loved and supported.
She also said that because Dolly could not have children of her own, she made family members feel as though they were her children. Lainey described that love as something she would always be thankful for.
A Tribute at the Grand Ole Opry

On Saturday, her niece Jada Star appeared at Nashville’s Grand Ole Opry as part of a tribute concert for the country music star. Star performed “The Orchard,” a song she had recorded with Parton for the 2024 album Smoky Mountain DNA: Family, Faith and Fables.
Before going on stage, Star shared that she was dealing with deep sadness but understood the importance of performing at a place Dolly loved.

DollyFest Planned for 2027
Parton’s estate has also announced plans for Dolly Fest, a two-weekend event that will take place in Nashville and London next year.
According to Parton’s manager, Danny Nozell, Dolly did not want a traditional memorial. Instead, her team plans to continue with the festival concept she had dreamed about before her death.
The event will give fans another opportunity to celebrate her life, music and career rather than holding a traditional memorial service.
Her Work Will Continue
Even after her death, several projects Parton was working on are expected to continue.
Her team said projects including a coffee line, a home decor collection and a Broadway musical planned for New York will still move forward.
Other projects connected to Parton’s plans include Dolly Parton’s Song Teller Hotel and Dolly’s Life of Many Colors Museum in Nashville. Both are scheduled to open next month. Dolly Dolls and Dolly’s Dog Treats are also expected to be released in the coming months.
Nozell said Parton continued working until the day she died. Her team now plans to help complete many of the projects she had started.
